Left for work this morning and there was a white/grey pigeon standing in the road in front of our house. Noticed it had a yellow band on its leg and that it didn't seem very scared of me but I was in a hurry so I left.
Turns out it hung around the house and at some point this afternoon our yellow lab found it and had it in it's mouth. We don't think it's hurt but now it's hanging out under our back deck which is fairly low to the ground so it has some protection.
We're down in Tall Timbers. Does anyone know of anybody down this way who raises/keeps pigeons? If not, any suggestions on who we should call?

| homing pigeon showed up in my back yard last night being chased by a cat with one of my dogs chasing the cat... cat ran away and then my dog started chasing the pigeon... it wouldd start to fly and land... my hubby grabbed an old tshirt and caught it... it has an injury on its back... we stopped the bleeding and i cleaned it with a little bit of benidine... we put him or her in a card board box with air holes and to keep it calm... i gave it water with plastic syringe for pets and then it drank from my hand... so cool... never had birds... i put in a small bowl of water and a man from georgia who we were told to call to id bird said he did not have info on these bands... i told him we were disabled and don't have any extra money for food... he suggested uncooked rice... i said i have wheat brown and sticky kind... he said put a little brown wheat... we went to 5 emergency vets ans not one would help us or see if it yad a chip... jerks... the bird can not fly right now... we can not keep it with our dogs... please call me if you lost your pigeon and know its tag id number... thank you... god bless... sophia... | |||||||

| unfortunately, this pigeon was killed in our front yard c. 10/27/2020, probably by a cat or coyote. i heard it happen. the pigeon's foot with the band, plus feathers, is all we found. the light blue band is not completely legible. what we can read is 175 aug 2020 app 562 8-5008 there is at least one number that we can't see. | 2 pigeons showed up in my yard today. one has a red band on each leg, the other has a blue band on one leg and an orange one on the other. i put out extra bird seed and water for them, i feed the blue jays and squirrels daily. my concern is that i have 2 dogs, and these pigeons are fat/healthy and just waddle around, and my dogs are going a little nuts. my husband and i are trying to be very careful when letting the dogs out. our hope is that they leave in a day or so. | gray pigeon has been hanging out at my kids' elementary school for the last 12 days. blue band on right leg with identifying info and blank green band on left leg. does not appear to be injured. i've seen the bird fly a few times, but never higher than about 20 feet in the air, and it keeps coming back to the same spot every day. he's the talk of the town...all of the neighbors have been keeping his birdseed pile full. :) would love to find the owner! | |||||||
